Nampa, Idaho –
Mercy Medical Center Wins Best Acute Care Hospital Award Two Years in a Row
NAMPA, ID - Mercy Medical Center announced today that it received the Total
Benchmark Solution (TBS) Best Acute Care Hospital Award, making it the fifth
quality award Mercy has received in the past year. Total Benchmark Solution
compared quality data submitted from over 4,000 hospitals nationally to the
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and determined the best
hospitals by benchmarking and ranking all hospitals on the CMS quality
measures.
“Healthcare consumers are researching and comparing healthcare providers,” said
Joe Messmer, President and CEO of Mercy Medical Center. “We’re pleased that
people can go online and see Mercy Medical Center’s quality data and make
informed healthcare decisions for their family or business.” This is the second
year in a row that Mercy has won the Total Benchmark Solution Best Acute Care
Hospital Award.
This announcement comes several weeks after Mercy Medical Center was presented
with the Blue Cross of Idaho Award of Achievement for Hospital Quality as the
top performing urban hospital in the state of Idaho. 29 hospitals in the state
were judged on evidence-based measures known to improve outcomes in areas such
as pneumonia, heart attack treatment and diabetes care. Blue Cross of Idaho
selected Mercy for top honors for its exemplary patient care, safety and
affordability.
In addition to these two high honors, Mercy has received other recent
recognition that highlights Mercy’s ongoing commitment to excellence. USA Today
rated the top hospitals nationwide for cardiac care and out of 3000 hospitals,
Mercy Medical Center received a 5 star rating, the highest rating available, for
cardiac care at both the state and national level. USA Today also recognized
Mercy for its cutting edge work in developing life saving Rapid Response Teams
in its January 29th edition.
Mercy Medical Center is a 152 bed acute care hospital serving the medical needs
of the greater Nampa area. Mercy Medical Center was founded in 1918 by The
Sisters of Mercy and is now owned and operated by Catholic Health Initiatives, a
national nonprofit healthcare system. Mercy’s medical services are provided at
Mercy Medical Center, Mercy North Health Center, Mercy Home Health and Hospice,
and the Mercy Family Birthing Center all in Nampa, Idaho.
