Mercy Medical Center is proud to introduce the Mercy Medical Center Foundation. The Foundation was established to support the hospital financially and to encourage the community to embrace the hospital and its upcoming expansion.

The question still remains in the community as to why Mercy Medical Center would need a Foundation. Healthcare costs are on the rise and the population of Nampa and the surrounding area is growing rapidly. We know that one patient pump costs $290,000, one patient bed costs over $10,000 and one Ultrasound System costs $170,000. These are items that are utilized on a daily basis.

If Mercy borrowed money, both the principal and long-term interest would have to be paid back through future operations, severely limiting the ability of future "profits" to provide for future equipment and services. Contributions from individuals, businesses, and foundations enable the hospital to provide new equipment, facilities and services that could not be funded in any other way.

The Mercy Medical Center's Foundation Board and Committees are organized and focused on acquiring donations in the form of major gifts, planned gifts, annual gifts, and gifts from individuals and organizations. The Foundation also supports special events such as Bunco for Breast Cancer, the Heart and Sole Fitness Festival, health forums to educate the Nampa community on living healthier lifestyles, and business round tables.

To that end, Mercy Medical Center Foundation embraces the vision of what healthcare can be, and the commitment to make that vision a reality with Mercy Medical Center by "Supporting Quality Healthcare for the Nampa Community."
